After our Tri-Circle-D Ranch discovery, we came across the Trail’s End Restaurant. I remember years ago reading the Birnbaum’s books (back in the day before the internet, books were our only source of WDW info), and the reviews always said that Trail’s End was a treasure in Disney World due to its overall value. It was always one of those tidbits of info that I always kept in the back of my mind. We didn’t have dinner plans so we peeked inside and spoke with a chef. Molly has special dietary restrictions so we wanted to see what they offered on the buffet. It sounded like something that would be great for us to try, so we made an ADR (Advanced Dining Reservation) for later that evening around 7pm.
Everything was absolutely delicious and I am so glad we decided to try it. The price was extremely reasonable at $24.99 per person and the service was excellent from the server, chef and manager that kept checking on us.
I’m a health nut and was able to find lots of veggies and salads on the spread. I will say that my favorite dish offered was the baked macaroni and cheese topped with goldfish. It is easily the best mac and cheese offered on property. They had the regular kind, which most people were getting, and I wanted to tell them all to get this kind instead!
We are not huge meat eaters, but we loved how the ribs just fell off the bone and the pulled pork and beef brisket melted in your mouth. The baked potato bar was also delicious.
We ended up staying two hours and really just relaxed, took our time, and truly enjoyed the full experience. The atmosphere is casual with a comforting feel. I was surprised that even though the place was packed with people, it was actually really quiet. At the end of our meal we booked an ADR for the following night, because we loved it THAT much. I was too full for dessert, but made a mental note to pace myself so that I could indulge the next night! Incidentally, the next evening our awesome chef prepared Molly a special dessert. We will cover the impeccable service that Disney gives to guests with special dietary concerns and food allergies in an upcoming post.
I couldn’t be happier that we finally tried Trail’s End. It will definitely be part of our go-to list of ADRs for the future. As a matter of fact, we will be dining there on our next trip which isn’t too far off now…
