I don’t know what it is about being at Walt Disney World, but the battery on my phone drains really quickly when I am there. Not that I spend a whole lot of time on my phone, because it takes away from being in the moment, but between taking pictures and using My Disney Experience, a full charge isn’t going to last the whole day. My best tip for traveling in the parks is to carry a portable charger, so you can charge on the go.
There is the option of finding an outlet, but this can be a bit awkward. Also, guest relations will let you leave your phone and charging cord with them to claim later, but then you are without a phone while it’s charging.
My favorite option is kind of a hidden gem. In the beautifully themed Tangled area of Fantasyland, which was formerly the Skyway to Tomorrowland station, there is a little spot where you can recharge your phone and your self from the hustle and bustle of the Magic Kingdom.
Tucked away in the tree stumps are AC outlets.
I have walked past this area many times and it is always empty. I think this is mainly because it is not highly publicized. I’ve often wondered why it’s not listed on the park map.
It’s a great alternative to sitting awkwardly on the bathroom floor charging your phone! On a side note, the bathrooms in this area are also wonderfully themed, so be sure to check them out as well. So the next time you need to recharge your batteries or your phone battery at the Magic Kingdom, head on over to the Enchanted area of Fantasyland. Let us know in the comments if you have a favorite recharging spot!
